Mr. Jamaal Magee
School Social Worker
My name is Jamaal Magee. I am a Chi-town native (West side to be exact) but my familial culture is deeply rooted in a place called Collins, Mississippi. I earned my Bachelor Degree of Spanish (Yes, I am bilingual) from Carleton College in 2010 and my Master Degree of social work from the University of Washington-Seattle in 2015. I began my career in social work in 2010; I was a Youth Care Worker at a mental and behavioral health agency for boys and girls. Since that, I have held other positions as a Dorm Counselor, Resident Social Worker for a church, Counselor at Homeless Shelter, CPS Investigator and Children and Family Services Welfare Services Case Manager. Family and Team Decision Making Meeting Facilitator, and Site Coordinator with Communities in Schools. I began my career with Fulton County School District in 2022 and have served at S.L. Lewis and Oakley Elementary School. I am excited to be at Woodland Middle School and continue my professional, personal, and spiritual development,
In my personal time, I like to be at home (I am true homebody to my core). While at home I like to cook, play games on my phone, watch TV, peruse YouTube, and watch all things related to music. I love to sing, both at my church and freelance opportunities. I love all things families and often travel to spend time with families and close friends for all celebratory occasions. I live by the Golden rule and strive to live an integral life, where I treat people with respect, genuine care, and a lifestyle free of reproach.
